I’ve always loved doilies…there is something about the cottony, lacy feeling of them, along with the musty smell the ones I pick up always have.  But–what do you *do* with them?!?  I’m never quite sure how to use them and stay modern.  Here are some ideas.

Beautiful post from Brocade…..I’ve seen the doilies-on-curtains before, but these are executed so beautifully!! I love it!

I finished my bobbins today. Now to find a great project! I’ve been browsing this Flickr pool for inspiration.  I noticed a very pretty picture of lavendar by Elemental Stitches, and it has me very inspired!  I love the dark background.

This was my fun little project this weekend, before I got sick! So I still have many more to do, but the process is so simple. It’s just paperboard (from my recycle bin) sandwiched between fused layers of fabric. Then I cut out the shape I wanted for my bobbins.

Spring is gorgeous here…full of green, green grass and fresh spring flowers popping up everywhere. Starting next week there is month-long tulip festival in a nearby town. Fields of bright tulips, tons of kids and parents out to see the flowers, take photos and eat treats they sell at the farms. I love it!! This spring I want to spend lots of time at the fields…instead of one big day like usual.
